The first pair - Dan Holland and Gus Stephenson were up first against very difficult Upper Sixth opponents. We tried hard to compete with the more powerful Cheltenham pair, but it was a fairly convincing 3-0 loss. A good lesson learned for this young pair.
The second pairs match was much closer. Aaron Tomson and Ed Mayell fought extremely well throughout the match, but on the big points they came up just short and lost 3-1.
The under 15 pair started to turn things around for us and played very well to get the victory on the board. Some excellent serving from Oli Cox and consistent groundstrokes from Johnnie Stephenson meant we were always in control, finally winning 3-1.
The under 14’s started shakily losing their first game but settled down to win the next three.
Tommy Boorman started to return with much more conviction and Joel Cox was rallying well. A great result for the young and inexperienced pair.
Well played to all this term and we now turn our attention to Queens next week.
