At the end of September an eleven- strong team of Senior Cadets from the Army section of the Malvern College CCF competed in the Brigade 48-hour Military Skills event at the Nesscliffe Training Area in Shropshire.
Five girls and six boys from the Lower and Upper Sixth combined to form one of the strongest and most dynamic teams we have seen in the past few years. The team, ably led by Sgt Matt Bruce, performed very well in every challenge, from a version of the Gun Run to First Aid in a tactical situation, allowing them to demonstrate the high level of personal skills they possess and a demonstration of equally impressive teamwork. The numerous tests were followed a gruelling ‘March and Shoot’ on Sunday, which again showed Malvern’s Army section at its best.
The trophy eluded the team this year, but the full results – when published – will undoubtedly be a positive and encouraging read.
Well done to: Matt Bruce; Matt Little; Tone de Melker; Imogen Cole; Lucy Fletcher; Bonny Green; Annabel Moody; Esther Woods; Nick Horn; Dougal Lemon; Jonny Mather.
Thanks also to Mrs Jarvis and Nichols for their efforts in preparing the team, and to Mr Lacey and Karen Pollard for supervising and supporting over the weekend.
